John Edwards:Lawyer and Politician

Law.com posted an interesting article on the campaign of John Edwards. It quotes him basically saying that he believes that his courtroom experience helps him in campaigning.(article)  It's not unusual for a lawyer to run for public office. Hilary Clinton worked for a large firm in Arkansas. Fred Thompson was a lawyer who landed an acting part as a lawyer, and then went on to do more acting, before running for Senate. John Edwards is really the first that I remember to tie in his law experience with campaigning. The article gives some good analysis to consider whether that does help him.  Also, while the article does not address it, does this impact his "credibility quotient." Successful Lawyers  work on being themselves and not some performer.
